Shooting was the last sport added to the Mittal Champions Trust. They have done exceptionally well over the last few years and we feel that they needed the little push to really achieving greatness. We support a number of shooters in the shotgun and Air rifle disciplines. Shooting is an extremely expensive sport and the support from the Trust is essential to allow these guys to reach their full potential. Since there are so many different events the shooters all train with different coaches and different locations.

Manavjit Singh Sandhu (Trap) is a world champion and trains with Mr. Marcelo Dradi in Italy, Ronjan Sodhi (Double Trap) and Mansher Singh (Trap) both train with Mr. Russell Mark in Australia. In the Air Rifle we support Abhinav Bindra also a world champion in 2006. He trains with Mrs. Gaby Buehlman in Germany. We also support Ms. Suma Shirur (Air Rifle) who is a world record holder.

Shooters such as Abhinav Bindra and Manavjit Singh Sandhu have already qualified for the 2008 Beijing Games and are now getting ready for those. For the rest, they will be focused on getting their Olympic quota place secured. They can earn these quota places in any on the four world cups or at the Asian Championships at the end of the year.
